Her Universe Needs Your Opinion!

Categories: Fans, Fashion, Her Universe Brand, Star Wars, Uncategorized, Video // Comments: 186

Over the past year, when we asked for your suggestions on what types of merchandise you wanted us to make, several of you asked for a Star Wars purse/handbag/tote. We have been hard at work designing a new bag and I wanted to get your opinion on our design so far. We are in the sampling phase and I just got a sample that I wanted to share with you. If we like the sample, then we will proceed with the order. If we feel that the sample is not quite what we expected, then we will continue to make changes until we get it right.

I am very pleased with this latest sample of our tote bag. We created a signature Her Universe pattern using the Star Wars symbols. I was inspired by the Louis Vuitton and Coach patterns. This is actually the first pattern that encompasses the entire Star Wars saga in one pattern. We cover the original trilogy, the prequels and The Clone Wars all in one. The tote is larger in size and is perfect for school, work, the gym, or going out for the day! It’s a great carry-all. It has two outside pockets and three pockets on the inside. The outside is black and purple, our signature colors, and the inside is solid purple. The fabric is a thick canvas and it fits comfortably over your shoulder. The bag would retail on our website for $45.00.

So before we move forward with these bags, we want to hear from you! Do you like it? Would you buy this? We have created a survey and we need your opinion. We will be running this survey for the next week. Please let us know your thoughts!

  1. Ri Skygirl says:

I LOVE IT!!!!!! :D I’d sooo buy it!!! Maybe some sort of main logo on it. I think it’s fine jus the way it is.

  2. Ri Skygirl says:

Although the price is a pretty high. That’s something I don’t like. Then like 58 plus tax and shipping. :/ I don’t like the shipping. But it’s worth it. As long as it isn’t 62 total like my Manga Hoodie. That’s my only problem is the price. I’ll still buy it. But still a lot of money to save.

  3. Paula says:

I LOVE the fabric pattern! I could totally see various sizes and types of bags done with that.

I think it’s a great size for conventions, but I’m not sure about everyday life. Of course, I tend to be a smaller bag, kinda gal.

Either way, I’d prefer to see a zipper to close it. I’m not sure how much that would blow the price up, but I’d just feel more secure that way; especially in crowded places.

    Great design idea!

  4. I love this bag, and the fabric pattern. I’m already trying think of uses for it so I can get it. Of course I’m also a smaller bag kinda gal, like Paula said. If you would take the same fabric and make a smaller bag, I’d definitely want to get it. My current bag is starting to wear out (I’m also a one purse kinda gal).

  5. Julia says:

Love the print but not crazy about the bag shape/size itself. I would definitely buy it if it was a messenger bag at the same area price point or as a normal sized purse. Keep up the good work!

  6. Billie says:

I would definitely buy this! It looks great for school and travel, and I do a lot of both. I just wish that it had a zipper closing instead of a tie. I’m always paranoid about my things falling out, so the whole tying it together thing doesn’t really appeal to me. otherwise, it’s awesome.

  7. Kim says:

I really like this bag I’m married and have a 5 year so I end up being a bit of a pack mule it would be great to have a cute star wars bag to carry around when we go to the zoo.

  8. LadyVader says:

I think it’s fabulous! I wish it were a little cheaper though, like in the thirty range.

  9. melissaf says:

Love the bag and the size of the bag. :-) But I tend to carry my entire life in bags.

  10. Angela says:

I love everything about the bag. The pattern, the colors, and the shape. The only thing I would change, is instead of Tie Ribbons, I think there should be a zipper for the large, main section of the bag. I would just prefer that so you would feel better about knowing that nothing could fall out on accident. I love the colors of this bag though, and the fact that it’s not too girly. I usually just carry a small backpack, because I’m not huge on purses, but I think I would make an exception for this tote bag! Great work Ashley, even if you don’t change it to a zipper for the large pocket, I think I would still get it just because I love the design so much. Especially that you included, the prequels, originals, AND clone wars. So many things are only prequels or only ot and it’s annoying, since i’m a fan of the whole saga. Can’t wait to see this item be available. :)

  11. Katie says:

Let me preface this comment by saying that I’ve done buying for a gift shop before, and we looked at these types of products for the shop. The bag itself is a nice size for the occasions when your out and about all day. I really like the pattern and how it’s executed. I do however have a couple of issues, from my point of view it’s rather expensive. I love purses but it’s a little beyond what my price point is for spending on a hand bag. I’d personally like to see that fabric pattern used for an actual purse, not just the carryall tote. I’d also like to see a tote like this with a zipper closure in the top, something that closes totally not just a tie, I hesitate when buying a bag that doesn’t close all the way. I hope my comments help you and your team make a more informed decision.

  12. Kiki says:

I love the print, love the bag. The only thing I would change is I would make the straps a tad longer.

  13. Madelynn says:

I think it a very pretty bag. I would love to have it. Only thing I would want added is a zipper instead of a tie. I’m always picking my bag up wrong or it gets bumped over. Other than that Love it. Love the pattern and the colors. Gonna get it when you sell it.

  14. AuroraLee says:

Ashley, the bag looks great! I will definitely answer the survey, but want to say ‘thanks’ for asking our opinions!

I agree with Paula: a zipper would be nicer and more secure. Perhaps there would be a way to have both, (ties above the zipper?) if you have oversized items.

and like Ri, the shipping is definitely an issue, especially to canada. Otherwise I love and would buy! A next size down would be nice too.

  15. christina says:

I adore the print pattern! I would love to be able to purchase some the fabric.

The bag is a bit to big for my taste. While I appreciate that it is a thick quality fabric, it seems to be rather large and bulky. I would have preferred something smaller, more like a purse – and with a zipper! Having lots of pockets is definitely a plus though.

Make it into a purse and I’ll buy it!

  16. Endor says:

I love it! I especially like the entire saga being represented.

As mentioned above, I would like to see a zipper put in place instead of a ribbon.

$45 seemed a lot to me, until I realized that other designer purses are in the 100s and above. Guess I’ll have to save! ;)

  17. Becky says:

I love it!!! I would buy one in a heart beat! Keep the bags coming :) !

  18. Niki says:

I love the print and I love the colors and I even like the size (a smaller size would be great too). I’m not crazy about the shape. It looks weird on the sides to me. If the sides were straight and didn’t poof out it would look better to me. A messenger bag would look good. And a zipper to close it would be great. I would suggest luggage, but that would probably be pricey…but if it looked good I’d probably buy it. :)

  19. orangerful says:

I’m happy I watched the video because the photo of the bag makes it look pink/purple, but in the video you could see it was black/purple, which I could definitely go for. Really cute and functional – which I like.

  20. Nanci says:

Agree with the comments about preferring a zipper over a ribbon. I would feel more secure with a zippered bag.

  21. Hydra says:

I like the size, it would work great for a carry-all. So in this case I would just toss in my actual purse for safe keeping.
The pattern is very minimalistic, but identifiable upon closer inspection.

I will also vote for a zipper since ties, although handy do not fix the security problem that an open bag faces… Also, I think it would be neat if you added a little “bling” to the outside… something like a charm or a key ring, it would for sure give the bag a little more appeal.

  22. DarthSarah says:

    A really REALLY great idea!
I probably won’t get it because it’s purple (personal preference) and looks kind of… awkward with those pockets and short handles, but I really think a lot of gals are going to like it. Great job! Make a whole line of accessories with this pattern! (Scarves, make up bags, and actual handbag, etc.)
    I love it! :D
P.S. Should have had the Mandalorian Mythosaur skull!

  23. Destiny says:

I already filled out the survey, but I wanted to echo here that I agree with the others who said they would prefer something a bit smaller. I usually have very little I need to throw in a bag; a 16oz water bottle, a paperback book, and MAYBE if I do not have pockets, a wallet, my (awesome R2D2) cell, and some lip gloss.

Perhaps following again in the footsteps of designers, have several different options with the same pattern. Have a large tote, and a small tote. Perhaps even eventually some other items like wallets and change purses. I definitely love the pattern, but I am unsure I could justify purchasing a bag I would find so little need for.

  24. I love the print (and the pockets!), but as a petite, slender woman have to say the size of this bag is very off-putting. It would not be practical for me as an every day bag, but can see where this could work for conventions (although the straps are a bit short & the bag might bulk against my ribs for this to be comfortable) or for some people, as you mentioned, as a diaper bag! :)

The tie is very cute, but something like a zipper would also be nice. I am always disappointed when rain gets into my bag due to the lack of a zipper! :\ Not to mention: I’d be so worried things would fall out.

Price is also higher than what I would pay. Without compromising style, I would love to see a smaller purse with the same pattern (because it is so lovely) and perhaps a bit more structure to it?

  25. Carmen says:

I would buy the bag- but maybe it is because I am a bag addict. I make them, I buy them, it’s an obsession. I think it would definitely be worth the $45 if it were reversible and if instead of 2 starps there was one main strap that was adjustable in case you wanted to carry the bag across your chest. A zipper on the top would be great or even a flap- kind of a messenger bag style. Either way, I can’t wait until it is available.

  26. Treena says:

I love the fabric and it looks like a great bag! My only suggestion would be for a zipper to close it rather than than the tie strings/ribbons.

  27. Traci says:

I loved the bag! I have to agree with a lot of other people that I would prefer a zipper on it. Living in the city, there are a lot of snatchers. Also I think there needs to be a larger main logo on the bag as a focus point (maybe the HER Universe logo.) Other than that, I love the color, size, the pattern is AMAZING! $45 is okay, however with the shipping, it will really push the bag up which does stink. Thanks for creating this!

  28. Sami says:

I love it! Doing a variation on all those designer logos was inspired! A zipper or maybe a snap would be nice instead of the ties, but I like the ties too. I LOVE purple the purple, but it would be nice to have some other color options, if not now then maybe later on!
All in all, love it! Totally asking for it for my birthday!

  29. GunnerBikerStephanie says:

    **Cross posted from Youtube**
I love the pattern (even though the Mandolarian Skull is missing ;) ) I’m a huge fan of big bags. I’m not sure about the shape, it kind of looks like a giant rectangle (maybes a little less deep?). I’m also a little unsure of the ties instead of a zipper. I can see the appeal of the ties, they are very cute, but in terms of security, I think zippers would be better. I’d say its pricey….but considering that a hoodie is $50 (honestly, that whole site is expensive, but that’s what happens with a niche market) it’s not out of this world. Those are the tweaks I would suggest. Great job though! Yay for more Star Wars stuff!

  30. Chani says:

I love the pattern! What a cool idea! The color is ok, though having it available in other colors would be awesome! Also, what about smaller sizes? And maybe then they wouldn’t cost as much? I would buy it, but I never use that large of a purse/handbag unless it’s for music. So smaller would be nicer for me. :) Thanks for making this! Even if this is what you go with, I’ll probably save up and buy it!

  31. Woman Friday says:

I have little new to say, so I’ll emphasize what everyone else has said that I agree with. :)

    Pros:
    - pattern is excellent, stylish, modern, geeky!
    - high-quality fabric
    - good colors (I especially like that the bag is predominantly black on the outside… easy to match)

    Cons:
    - no zipper
    - HUGE bag for petite/short women (like me)
    - not very practical as a purse

  32. I love that! It’s so cute!! I like all the symbols on it and I LOVE the purple! Purple is my FAVORITE color! I would love to see more purple stuff! The bag looks great! I would totally buy it. The price is what I would expect. Once Her Universe expands, because the female Star Wars fan force is growing, I’m sure the prices wouldn’t be so high. Then again, HU has GREAT sales. Plus there are some big name brand stuff, like in the mall (Abercrombie and Fitch) and they OVERPRICE their stuff like $30 more than they’re worth. So I will not critisive HU at all for their pricings.
I also love big bags. But I would also like to see a little smaller version of that bag as a purse. But (hopefully) I will buy it, that is if I make some more money, and totally bring it to Disney when I go to Star Wars Weekends! By the way, I am SOOOO excited for Star Wars Weekends! Last year was a BLAST! It’s going to be hard to top last year!
Well, great bag! Can’t wait to buy it! :)
    -Rachel (Queen Karina)

  33. Kristen says:

I like it, but it would be nice if the side pockets had a little hardware on them to keep them closed if you aren’t packing them full. Maybe an eyelet and toggle closure.

If this bag is successful, might there be other bags/sizes in the future?

  34. Mandi says:

Love the pattern Ashley! I’d like to see it in an everyday purse size too! I can’t get enough of your line! Thanks so much for representing us Sci-fi gals ;o)

  35. Kara says:

I was honestly hoping for something smaller and more like a purse than a bag. I’m still looking for something really girly! But even still, I know that for sure I plan on buying this bag when its available.

  36. Cori Hull says:

I concur with the suggestion to have the main compartment close with a zipper, but otherwise, I love this bag! I will definitely be looking to pick one up when it comes out. Love the pattern and colors. It would be awesome to see more products using this pattern too if it sells well.

It would be great to see it at a lower price point BUT given that it is a unique item, as long as it is made of really durable, quality materials, I think it is well worth $45–I am one of those people who will use a bag until it falls apart if I find one I really like, so the longer it lasts the better. I am willing to pay a little more for that.

Thanks so much for keeping up the awesome products!

  37. avery says:

sounds great, but id like to see a a zipper or toggle of some sort ( not to say i wont buy it anyway)i think the price is fine. i expect quality, and so far , you havnt disappointed me with what ive gotten.

  38. Phillip Johnson says:

My wife and daughter approve and want one each.

  39. Leia Organa says:

Honestly this bag is just plan beautiful and the pink/purple color is just lovely. Finally! Something that looks sorta girly!

    It is kinda expensive though.

Even shelling out $20 bucks for the marked down ESB hoodie was a lot for me. $45? I’ll just have to forget it. It’s really heartbreaking though, but in these times I don’t have the money to buy luxery items such as this bag. I mean, my family doesn’t even have the money to go to Star Wars Weekends this year, which breaks my heart because one of the weekends lands right splat on my birthday. I mean come on? Getting to meet Ashley Eckstein on my birthday? Talk about awesome! ;)

If you’re looking for some suggestions, I like bags that people can tell are SW related items and don’t have to be a SW freak to realize it’s SW. Personally, I LOVE Leia, so I definatly want to see some Leia stuff pop up. ;) Oh, and, uh, maybe some EU stuff, right? I personally adore ANAKIN SOLO!!! *squeals with glee*

You’re my favorite voice actress and I love some of the things you sale on HU, but sadly my pocketbook refuses to coopperate. I have come across a few different girls who have no HU things just because of the price. I recommend more sales. =)

I completely realize that you can’t help the prices of some of this stuff. I’m simply letting you know why I won’t be buying one unless I come into some cash. :)

Your #1 fan from the begining of HU,

    Leia Organa

  40. Marissa Lee says:

The current design seems more diaper-bag-ish than chic–it’s a little dowdy. The pattern seems more suited for a smaller purse, like a clutch. On the other hand, I would love to see a dress or skirt with the pattern.

If it is used on a larger bag, I think construction would be really important for that pattern. Louie Vutton/Coach/fancy purses with print patterns like that usually have a really concrete, definite shape. For the price point, I would say at the very least it needs a zipper!

Thanks so much for asking for our input!

  41. Amie says:

Considering the price–I think it’s completely a steal–if I were to get something comparable from Vera Bradley, I’d pay well over 150 bucks. I love, love, love the pattern, and think it is well suited for the Her Universe brand–my one drawback is its size. I never carry a bag that large for every day use. I’d like to see a lap top back pack or bag, and a smaller hand bag.

  42. Zelly says:

I love it!! I think the price is fair and will definately invest in one. I have bought several items from this site and directly from a few of the conventions. I have never been disapointed in the quality or the customer service that HerUniverse provides. I LOVE the pattern and the colors!!!!
My only thing I would have to say about the bag is that it is huge. It would be good to have for traveling and conventions but I don’t see myself really using it more than that – and that won’t stop me from snatching one up! (I’m a small purse gal myself) I’m just so excited to see an item like this – I can’t wait to see what comes next!

  43. Another Ashley says:

I love the design and size of this bag. I tend to go for more ‘tote’ type purses because of all the stuff I carry around with me. I also love the idea that it has side pockets because those look perfect for dropping car keys in and being able to find them again easily. Color is perfect, too.

As for price, I think this bag is priced really well. If I’m buying a baby-t, it’s rare I’ll buy one for more than $20 (not that it stopped me from buying these!), but for a purse that will get used repeatably for years, $45 isn’t a deal breaker! Actually, it’s pretty reasonable.

Love the bag and look forward to seeing it at a convention or on the site soon!

  44. JediSu says:

Love the pattern and color, however I would like it a bit smaller. Too big for me at a theme park to use. Great pattern for a messenger bag or backpack style though. For a theme park definitely need a zipper, can’t do star wars weekend rock and roller coaster with a bag with no zipper closing.

  45. Stephanie says:

I like the fabric but make a small messenger bag big enough to fit an iPad and I’d buy it.

  46. I will be buying this bag. I don’t carry purses, usually. I do have a mini tote bag that I bought at starwars.com that I use as a purse when I need one. However, I can always use a large tote bag for carrying my Star Wars gaming books when I get to game. I love the colors and the pattern.
Like others have posted, I would prefer to have a zipper on the bag instead of the ties. Other than the lack of a zipper on the main section of the bag, it’s great.

  47. Princess Lea says:

I think it’s very cute. I don’t know if I’d buy it for conventions so much (my shoulders tend to get really sore if I lug around things just on one arm all day) but I would probably use it for holding things – or even a grocery bag!

I love the pattern – I would get a backpack with that pattern in a heart beat – and take THAT to Comic Con with me. :)

  48. Trish says:

    Too cute, Ashley!

I’d have to agree with previous posters that a zipper would feel much more secure, and also that a smaller size option would be a big plus!

But, it’s so cute there’s no way I’d pass it up! Top o’ my birthday list!

  49. MisterPL says:

This looks like a diaper bag. Star Wars moms everywhere will be able to make use of this. Well done!

  50. Michelle says:

Hey Ashley LOVE LOVE LOVE this bag i would definitly buy it. Love the pattern and the size. I love bags and i would defintly add this to my collection in a heartbeat I love the ribbions it looks awsome but like some of the above posters i worry about things falling out and think a zipper would be awsome. but zipper or no zipper its still on my list of must gets :D Thank you so much Ashley and to all of those at Heruniverse for all your hard work :D

  51. Milady says:

I love the pattern! That is absolutely awesome! I love the pocket on the side for the water bottle so it has its own compartment. I’m always worried about my water falling over and getting everything wet. I wouldn’t need two pockets like that though. I also agree, I would like a zipper better to close it. Overall I love the size, the super sweet pattern and the black and purple colors. The price is a little steep but bags like that could go for much more and I will absolutely buy it just the way it is now if you decide to sell it that way.

  52. DarthBlu3 says:

Ashley – The bag looks great! I will definately be getting my wife one of these. She loves the oversized bags with big pockets to carry her water bottles and all of her stuff. She also loves the color purple, and the subtle SW designs is something that she prefers over the in your face logos and designs. $45 for an oversized bag is decent price, I wouldn’t worry about that too much. Win/Win all the way around!

  53. Daisy says:

I absolutely love the pattern and the colors. Black/purple is my favorite color combo!

I think it’s a little big, so it’s probably not something I would use everyday, but I would definitely get it for travelling, conventions, or any other time I need a sturdy bag to carry lots of stuff in.

I’d love to see the same design used for other products!

  54. Tracy says:

Never been a huge fan of the logo-laden look in general, but I do like that it doesn’t scream Star Wars on first glance.

I probably wouldn’t buy this specific bag, but generally? $45 is actually pretty reasonable for me. (I may have a bag weakness.)

  55. Queequeg says:

I think it would be perfect as a diaper bag,(too bad my sister is not a star wars fan) but I think it would need to be a bit smaller for me to lug around to all of my classes and stuff, ie without such big side pockets, but I would spend about 30 dollars on it. A matching wallet would go good with it as well.

  56. Nikki says:

Def proceed with the bag. Love the black and purple color scheme, the size, and the overall design with all the symbols. Great work and hope to see it for sale soon!
Questions/possible suggestions: Does in the inside have any other smaller pockets in addition to the one you put your water bottle in? A specific cell phone and/or ipod pocket would be nice.

  57. Trace says:

I adore the design of the bag, and I think it could be uber-convenient for those who like to carry a great deal of stuff around or for those who attend big conventions that almost require the need of a big bag.

My only concern would be the closure. A zipper closure would probably ease my mind a bit more so that it could conceal the bag’s contents and up the security factor. :)

Great job, though! I’d love to have one!

  58. Michelle Lunsford says:

I love the pattern and color scheme. I also like the design of the bag overall, but then I really like the idea of a multi-purpose tote bag. I agree that a zipper close is a better option than the ties.

I think this fabric would be great to use and expand to bags in other sizes – something more like an everyday basic handbag, and possibly even something smaller like a makeup bag or coin purse.

  59. Aeryn says:

LOVE it! I agree with those who suggest a zipper close rather than ties for the main compartment, though.

  60. Angela says:

The first thing I loved was the pattern. I love how it encompasses the whole Star Wars Universe and highlights the Her Universe logo. There are some days I’m for the Empire, and some days I’m a Jedi. This design helps me out on both days but still show that it is my universe.

I love the color; I’m not much of a purple gal, but would change my wardrobe to carry this.

I do agree with the other comments. A zipper or the combination of zipper/tie would be preferred to keep things more secure. This bag is great for the gym or traveling, but would be a bit too big for everyday purse use. Possible offering the design in a smaller purse, makeup bag or coin purse could open it up for more fans.

Overall, great design. Great use of color. And great job for really bringing Star Wars designs to the female fans. Keep up the great work!

  61. I know that at this point, I’m merely echoing other people, but here are my thoughts:

    – I do like this design. I am a new mom, and it would be a great diaper bag/ carry all the stuff my baby needs bag. It’s large, loose, and unstructured. Since we paid $65 for our diaper bag, $45 doesn’t seem unreasonable.

    – However, I already have a diaper bag. I wish this were a purse, using the same cloth. A small, cross body purse would be nice and practical for conventions.

    – I love that the pattern is subtle. I have a fair amount of Star Wars stuff that is In Your Face obvious, but I love the idea of Star Wars items that you have to be a fan to understand.

    – Down the line, I’d love to see this pattern in other colors, on other fabrics. Someone recommended a scarf–love this idea! Or shoes, like Coach. :)

  62. MartiM says:

I love the print and the colors (anything purple is mine…), but ye ghods that’s huge. I’m short (5’3″) and that would just so overpower me.
I really prefer a backpack for school/convention walking (less strain on one shoulder), but I could see that as a diaper bag.
I would echo the smaller-and-in-the-$30 range sentiment.
I’m also going to take up the zipper cause. It’s WAY too easy for a hand to reach into an open-top bag. I NEVER use a bag that doesn’t have a zipper anymore.
My primary concern also is, “Is it machine washable?” You say canvas, so I’m guessing yes. In that case, it’d make a great beach tote, too.
So summary: color/design are great, zipper please, a smaller version in the $30 range. (Backpack version would completely ROCK!)

  63. Fenchurch says:

It looks great! Love the fabric and basic design, but I do have to agree with a large number of the others that I would really prefer having a zipper, rather than ties. The other two things that stand out for me would be that it’s just a bit larger than I like and the handles are too short. I wear my purses and bags cross-shouldered (or whatever it’s called). It just feels more secure that way!

  64. I love it. But I don’t think I will be buying it. its not really my style. But I love the print. It would be cool if it came in a variety of colors.

I would love to see something a little more chic.

But my biggest suggestion: start carrying your t shits in plus sizes!

And thank you for asking us our opinions. It makes me feel appreciated.

  65. Charlotte says:

I love the bag! the pattern is nice though I would love one that was all original saga. I think the ties as opposed to a zipper makes the bag super cute though I do understand a want for a zipper. I also love the side pockets and the colour.

  66. Trish Wilson says:

I love the pattern. I love the colors.
I’m not a fan of big bags. I would love to see this pattern in a smaller purse version or even a back pack.
Thanks for showing us the sample!
It’s fun to be included in the process!
Can’t wait to see what’s to come!

  67. Ali says:

I love that bag. It’s great to swank in school.but i sure that no one can doscovered where from it is. You should do in other colors like blue and turquoise and another models inspirated that bag.

  68. DianeK says:

I love the pattern but I’d prefer something a bit smaller so I could use it every day.

  69. Leitadala says:

Love the pattern and colors but the size and lack of zipper will stop me from purchasing this bag. Hopefully we’ll see smaller totes with more secure ones in the future!

  70. sirikenobi says:

i think the bag is great, maybe alittle cheaper if possible, but the design is just incredible, very unique, and girly.
was there a pocket for cell phone? i couldn’t see..that is my only thing, need an accessible pocket for a cell, i hate fishing around for em.

  71. Melissa says:

    LOVE IT AND WANT IT!

  72. Greg says:

Ashley love your company… I purchased the Lil’ Soka/Plo t-shirt for my wife around Christmas. She loves it! Keep up the great work with your company and TCW!

  73. VadersMom says:

I love the pattern and colors – I’m fine with the pricing. But I wouldn’t purchase it at this point because it’s much larger than anything I would carry. Thanks for listening to us Ashley!

  74. Sreya says:

I agree with everyone asking for a zipper, and I absolutely ADORE the pattern!

  75. I absoulutely NEED this bag now! My backpack just broke today, and this gives me an excuse to get this bag! Whenever you put in online, I will be the first to buy it!! :)
    -Rachel (Queen Karina)

  76. Silver Rains says:

Love the pattern – and the color. Purple is my favorite color.

I would love this pattern in a smaller bag too – or even a wallet. And a backpack would be welcome.

As for the bag itself, I’m in the minority – I prefer the ties to a zipper as it makes it easy for me to reach in and find what I’m looking for. On the other hand – it also makes it easier for someone ELSE to reach in and steal something so I can see the argument for a zipper as well.

I think the price is comparable to any higher end bags (as opposed to something you’d see at a store like VoldeMart – excuse me, WalMart – where they can obviously afford to sell at a lower price.)

I have a real weakness for Brighton bags – would adore seeing some sort of Star Wars bag with a Brighton type feel to it, by the way. :)

I do agree with some of the comments that a pocket for cell phones, iPods, ect would be a nice add on but all in all it is a very nice bag. I’ll probably get one. (Or two … :)

  77. StarWarsLover says:

I like the design, but I would like to see more color, and I do like the purple. Maybe you could do a color that complements the purple instead of black, to me, I think the colors are too dark.

  78. Katherine says:

I love the pattern, color and even the ties. Its handy that you can fit one of the larger water bottles on the side. It is a little larger than I normaly would carry. With a large bag, it would be handy to have more pockets for smaller items. Maybe add a bonus pouch to carry makeup? As previously mentioned, i agree smaller bags would be great. Small and medium messanger bags as well as backpacks. Thank you for introducing these great products for women star wars fans!

  79. DuchessSatine says:

I think that bag is super cute! I would probably buy it. I like the purple color and the multiple pockets. I would like to see a similar bag with one big design instead of a pattern though. I would like to see a clutch or wristlet type bag too. The bag also seems slightly expensive.

  80. Magnaguard says:

I’m a guy, so obviously I’m not interested in the totebag. I’m jus here to talk with fellow SW fans. However, this is just my opinion; don’t let it stop you. If anything, if it delights the female fans, which it seems that it is, then your task has been done.

  81. Bethany says:

I think the bag looks awesome, and with a few adjustments I would definitely buy one, especially since I’ve been in the market for a new bag for a while! I do concur with some of the previous commenters’ suggestions, though. I would prefer a slightly smaller bag, and most importantly I would rather have one with a zipper. I’m forever having things fall out of my purse when I forget to zip it, so I probably wouldn’t pay $45 for a bag that doesn’t zip.

Thanks for everything you do for us fangirls, Ashley! I can’t tell you how much I admire you for reaching out to this market. :D

  82. Hannah says:

It’s gorgeous, I love the design and I like the size but then again I like big bags, and I take public transportation everywhere and ride my bike I would need a bag like this to carry my stuff, especially my waterbottle and my I-Pod and I-Pod stand whenever I want to listen to music at work, and I agree with a lot of the other post, that I would feel better and more secure with a zipper and 45 is a bit high for me, I would go for more of a 20 or 30 dollar range that’s how much I normally pay for my tote and purses and I think you should make this bag both big and small.

    ~Hannah

  83. Hannah says:

and I love the color, but then again purple is one my favorite colors.

  84. Lana says:

Like most of the people commenting here, I would prefer having a zipper closure. The ties are really cute and all, but I’m not only paranoid about things falling out – I’m paranoid about people being able to reach in and snag stuff out of my bag in a crowd. All the bags I use right now when I’m going out to crowded places have zipper closures for that reason. It’s also a really BIG bag. Maybe a little smaller?

I’d probably still buy it because it’s adorable, though…

  85. I love it Ashley!!! It’s cute, cute, CUTE!!!! The patern and colors are beautiful. I also love the size! I’m going to New York City this summer and I’m taking only cary-ons on the plane, so it will be perfect for that! The only problem I have is no zipper. I think the ties are a cool and unique idea, but I need a zipper or else someone might steal my stuff, especially in New York. I’d love it if you had a zipper and ties. I’m definantly buying it if you add a zipper! I don’t think the price is too bad. I love it! Great job, and can’t wait to see more merchandise!!!

  86. Anna says:

Oh my goodness It’s purple my favorite color I love it thanks so much Ashley I am totally going to buy this next time I have enough money. I totally love bigger bags better then the very small ones so I totally love this one

  87. jessica west says:

I LOVE THE BAG BUT THE TIE HAS GOT TO GO AND RELACE IT WITH A BUTTON THAT SNAPS SHUT. I LOVE THE BAG SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH . IT REPRESENTS THE WHOLE STAR WARS SAGA

  88. K. E. E. says:

I might prefer something smaller but can’t say for sure until I actually see it.

  89. Melissa says:

I am always looking for just that right bag to carry all my stuff and the kids stuff, to work and around shopping, without the bag itself being too heavy or not having any pockets so things get lost inside of it. I love the side pockets for water bottles and the interior pocket. I might like a zipper across the top better than the strings to tie, but don’t know how much that would change the prototype or how hard that would be.

I absolutely love the pattern. I would like a wallet, and then a smaller should strap purse in that patter as well.

I would definitely buy this as soon as you’ve got the final design up for sale. Keep us posted!

  90. Luke Skywalker's Girl says:

    Wow, that’s so cool!

I’d probably buy, if the price was lower, but I know how it is with everything. I’m not a big bang kind of person. I don’t like carrying purses. ;)

But I think I’d like it for a school bag to carry my school books! I’d be so SW stylish! :D

    Thanks for listening!
    ~Luke Skywalker’s Girl

  91. Sami says:

How about a matching wallet? Checkbook size preferably!

  92. ashley says:

i love it and the largeness of it but i think that in the future if you do another bag you should put more colors on it. ( i love the pattern)

  93. Maddy says:

LOVE LOVE LOVE THE PATTERN AND COLORS!!! I WOULD SOOOO USE THIS FOR MY HOMESCHOOL CO-OP SCHOOL!!!

But I dont LOVE LOVE LOVE the price…. seems like tooo much money for what it is….

  94. Maddy says:

oh yeah!! Click on my name, it takes you to a link of a band i like. :-) They used a LIGHTSABER in one of their music videos. :-D Thats what got my attention the first time i saw them… it was right after clone wars one friday night….

  95. ~lilashley~ says:

OK FIRST OF ALL I LOVE THAT Y’ALL ARE MAKING A TOTE!!!

    ~Ok Pros~
    1. Has a water bottle holder! (Which will help kuz I get dehydrated REALLY quickley so this will help a lot!) Maby it could me insulated?!?!?!?!
    2. Is big and roomy so I can fit books, wallet, itouch,Lip gloss,Personal things:),Snacks(Like granola bars etc.)
    3. Beautiful design! Maby you could add the Mandalor,Republic, and Tattooien symbols?!?!?!?!

    ~Ok now the cons~
    1. No zipper I like the idea of having both tie and zipper?!?!
    2. The handles are small:/ maby have on adjustable strap?!?!?!
    3. The symbols are kinda small so maby y’all could make them a little bigger?!?!?!
    4. There is an out side pocket and I personally wouldn’t use it:/

Ok here is an idea maby when you go to order it it is about $25 and you would just get the bag with one inside pocket and short handel straps. And then you could pay $3 dollars for an insulated water bottle pocket, $2 for an outer pocket, $2 for a zipper, $1 for a tie, $3 for adjustable straps, and $4 for back pack straps. Well that’s just an idea. (Sorry if there are some spelling errors:/)

  96. ~lilashley~ says:

Oh there can also be different sizes bags to choose from?!?!?!?!

  97. Rex'sgirl says:

I love the bag!!! Im totally going to ask for my birthday! Could you make the straps a little longer? Im not much of a purse person but I absolutly love that bag!

  98. ahsokablue says:

I love the bag Ashley!! I would so buy it!! It is definitely something that i would take everywhere i went!!! I am so going to try to get it!!

  99. g33klady says:

    OMG yes! NEED IT!!!!

  100. Jen says:

I like the look of the bag. I think more inside pockets would be nice and having the zipper pull be the Her Universe logo would be a nice touch to complete the high-end look of the bag.

  101. I love it SOO MUCH!! It is the bag of my dreams! I’m not joking at all…. I love using that size of bags for purses, and purple is my favorite! I nearly died when I saw this one!

  102. Anna says:

I would not purchase the bag for two big reasons, then a few smaller ones.

    1) I detest purple. Really. Hate it, least fave color, maybe 1% of EVERYTHING I own in my life is purple, and that’s mostly because I couldn’t get around it. So that keeps me from buying this bag. I think it would look fabulous if it was printed in white (or silver) on the black fabric instead.

    2) That’s a pretty big price tag for me, especially since there’s no zipper, and instead it’s tie strings.

Smaller concerns, if the bag is that big, then I’m going to need the option to put a strap across my chest with it, sling style. No way the bag would stay on my shoulder once I stuffed it. I also don’t like that the bag is that big, I would prefer something smaller personally. It would just be so heavy by the time I filled it up.

  103. Danna says:

What a great design! I love the color too. This would also look great with a red lining, though I’d buy the purple.

    Danna

  104. Madame Jedi says:

I agree with the consensus here. The pattern is very cute but a zipper would definitely make the bag nicer. I also think it’s a little long for the height. If it wasn’t full it would be really floppy especially with a water bottle in the side pockets. More pockets on the inside wouldn’t hurt either. Maybe even a cell pocket.

  105. Mlle_jedi says:

I love the fabric, but would love a smaller bag. I’m more of the messenger-bag type myself :)

  106. legal_padawan says:

I like the idea of the bag. I love large bags to carry all that I tote around with me.

I’d like to see the bag have a little more structure to it so it can stand on its own a little better.

Given what I carry around, I’d prefer a zipper or snaps to keep my personal items secure.

If you’re coming to Dragon*Con again this year and there were some changes to the bag, I’d definitely look at buying one!

  107. kelldar says:

love the pattern, love the colours. I’d prefer a smaller version, but would be sorely tempted by this version too.

  108. Georgina says:

I love the pattern! I really want the fabric so I could make my sorority letters out of it for my sorority sweatshirt. That would be awesome!

  109. Anaria says:

I love it, especially the print/colours! The price is great, but for me, it’s probably a little bigger than what I usually buy/use. Any chance of making a matching smaller handbag, that would be great! :D

  110. Jennifer says:

I love the pattern, I love the color, I love that it is a large bag do I would be able to carry a lot in it.. I do wish the main part of the bag had a more secure closing feature like a zipper. My number 1 priority when picking a bag, especially one to take to Disney parks, is if my stuff will stay in securely. I take my camera to the parks and, in the case of California Adventure, my bag stays with me even on rides (like California Screamin’) that go upside down. I need a zipper to insure my stuff does not some out.
I also wish the price was a little less. I understand the need to price it properly for the material and everything but I would not be able to afford that unfortunately.
I do love it though and think it looks like a wonderful product.

  111. Dianne says:

Love the idea of the bag and the symbols! Outside pockets to hold water bottles are wonderful so the “sweat” from the bottle won’t ruin the contents therein. I like the idea of a tie but the paranoid person in me prefers a zipper to keep things enclosed in case it takes a tumble off the car sear or someone wants to pilfer from it. Love the other suggestions of a small coin purse or cosmetic bag/pencil bag which snacks or writing utensils, etc. could be place in the bag. I can understand the cost being a bit high with the amount of detail work which go into the screens to print the fabric so I am willing to pay a little more.

  112. Megan says:

I love the print, the symbols are awesome and I love the colors too. I just don’t think I’d have a whole lot of use for a bag that size. A standard sized tote or a messenger bag definitely, but as-is it’s too big for my taste. I also would like a zipper closure, I’d be worried about things falling out.

  113. Kitty says:

The print is just fantastic! It would be must buy for me as a messenger crossbody style bag. But it’s a very good looking substantial tote – so may give it a try.

  114. Laurie says:

First I MIGHT pay $45 for it, but not with your shipping charges. Geez you have the highest shipping I have encountered! I bought once from you but can’t afford the shipping charges to do it again or at least very often. I love the tote but it needs a zipper closure not ribbon ties. How much more cost that would add is a little scary but it needs to be done. I love the logos and the colors. You maybe could also make a smaller size and offer both. But please rethink your shipping charges all around. It might increase interest and sales beyond what youy have already acheived. Think about the zipper and maybe the 2 different sizes. A $30 bag would be cool, even $35 would be acheivable.

  115. Mara Jen says:

Solid. Hope to see one I can buy at WonderCon.

  116. Marcy says:

only complaint i have is a zipper instead of ties for more security… would love to see a gym bag as i could use it for work aka hard to fit a duty belt and vest into that bag but i could use it for my swim bag

  117. Maddy says:

LOVE LOVE LOVE the color!! I can dig this bag… bbuuuttt…. i dont dig the price…. plz plz plz lower it!!!

  118. starwarsandowlcity says:

yeah, i agree with a lot of y’all on here. a zipper would be nice, adjustable straps, and maybe some other colors. but then again, purple and black ARE the HU colors! the price would be fine if that included shipping and taxes and all that good garbage. ;) i am really excited about though, because not everyone would immeadiately notice that it’s SW! it may seem like overkill to repeat all this, but more voices make a louder sound! right @lilashley? “we got a hundred voices singing, will they hear it?” ;)

  119. ~lilashley~ says:

YupSWandowlCity!! We’re Carry in the SW Banner!!!!! And when you got a million SW fan girl voices we won’t be able to hear that lousy guy criticism! (If any if y’all have ever seen Newsies you will know what we are talking about! And if you haven’t you just haven’t lived!!!)

  120. Tina says:

I like the bag, it’s subtle – not obviously Star Wars, but those “in the know” will recognize it. I also think it should have a zipper on the main part of the bag.

  121. Cory says:

I like the colors and the symbols, my big suggestion is to get a zipper. I hate bags that don’t have zippers and don’t like my stuff falling out of my purse. Also it’s pretty expensive for a tote bag. I don’t think I’d pay for this bag :/ sorry. Also maybe 1 big star wars logo on each side? Or the word Star Wars?

  122. Carol Gilbert says:

I like the pattern but the size is too overwhelming for me. Perhaps make various sizes. I’d love medium sized (big enough for iPad but small enough not to lose everything in it)

  123. Kimi says:

Omgomgomg!!!! Love the bag. It’s exactly what I need :D how can I get that? Would you be willing to part w the sample?? Omfg its the greatest thing I’ve seen in awhile and I agree that a little bling charm on it would be awesome :) :) :) :)

  124. Ender says:

Wow, so many things I love about this bag! The colors, the pockets and best of all the pattern! There are only a couple things I would change. I would add a zipper, but keep the ties too, for the safety of your stuff. I would also add a removable shoulder strap. Personally I like shoulder straps better than hand straps so I can use both my hands and not worry about my bag sliding down my arm, especially at an all day event like a con. However, I love the idea so much I might be willing to overlook those things. GREAT job and thanks for asking for our input! To mimic other posters, you ought to consider using this fabric pattern for an actual purse (or even a tshirt), that would be awesome.

  125. Gregory says:

I will buy it…. for my wife of course.

  126. Theora says:

I actually have been looking for a new bag to carry on my commute every day. I carry my lunch box a small clutch and sometimes shoes and/or an umbrella. So I think the size is pretty good, maybe just a hair too big, but I could deal with that. I LOVE the design!!!! Purple is my favorite color. And I even prefer it without a zipper. But like most of the folks I agree $45 is a little high. In the $30 range it’s a no brainer. But I’ve been known to pay more for less. :) Maybe it will be available by Mother’s day and I can nudge my husband and son to get it for me.

  127. viv says:

I prefer the cross body strap lenghth of a messengebag so I usually go there first, that being said I really like this bag. With summer day trips coming up I can see my whole days snacks etc in this bag. And the fabric…AWESOME!

  128. ~lilashley~ says:

It will be GREAT for a Beach vacation! You could fit a towel sunscreen a deflated beech ball and any other beech stuff!!!

  129. Kasre says:

cool! i think u should make it a backpack 2, cuz tht would b an AWESOME way 2 start the school year

  130. ~lilashley~ says:

Yah kuz it kinda looks like some of the pottery barn back packs!!! Maby a lunch bag could go with it?

  131. Ahsoka Fan says:

OMG!! I love that bag I would sooo buy it yup yup I would. Like others had said it would be better if it had a zipper and if the price was a bit lower. Other than that I love it!! I hope you do sell it here on your site soon, I would use it for school and other things as well ^^

  132. sarahayars says:

I wouldn’t buy it as it is. For me, it’s really too big. I have too many bags that size, and especially without a zipper. For a bag that big that I will end up putting down, I have to know nothing will fall out. I’d like to see a smaller tote, one that is more interchangeable with a purse. Or else a messenger bag that would be larger but more secure. I like the pattern, but the naboo symbol is very heavily used, but I can live with that.

  133. Jenn B says:

I think a smaller size offering as an option would be great. I’m not a big girlie girl, so I don’t have that much to put in a bag. Really I don’t see what people put in those huge purses! LOL Maybe something a bit smaller would tempt me, but he pattern is GREAT! I think people would really have to know their Star Wars to know what the bag was and that could start a conversation!

  134. Victoria S says:

I gave a quick response in the survey, but please bear with me as I provide a longer response/opinion here.

First off, love to see a bag of any sort coming to the Her Universe store! Just knowing a bag is in the works guarantees an instant sale from me. I absolutely LOVE tote bags and use them for work, traveling, gym, storage, etc.

    *Price:

Needs to come down. $45 is too expensive for a tote bag. I’ve never purchased a tote bag for more than $20-30. I think you need to at least bring it down to $35 if possible. If I’m going to spend upwards of $50 on a tote bag, I’d rather look at getting a really nice purse instead.

In addition to lowering the price, I think you should consider alternative ways to sell the bag. Companies like Victoria’s Secret and Barnes & Noble (I worked there for 5 years) have great success with offering their tote bags for free or at a discounted price after you spend a certain amount. It gets customers to buy more product and spend more money overall:

    http://cozywallet.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Victorias-Secret-Free-Tote-December-2009.jpg

    http://www.barnesandnoble.com/special_offer.asp?pid=27759

I was shocked when I made a $90 purchase at VS last year and they said “here’s your FREE tote bag”. It’s the nicest tote bag I own and I use it for everything – It’s HUGE, cute, made of durable canvas, has a zipper closure a zipper on the inside and a small zippered pouch attached to the inside. Coolest tote bag ever, and even my boyfriend was marveling at VS giving such high quality bags away for free with a purchase.

    * Features:

I appreciate the enthusiasm of having a bag that does everything, but I’m turned off by this bag trying to cram so many functions into it. A tote bag IS NOT a purse. I think two outer pockets, three inner pockets and string ties might be pushing it. There are a few basic features a tote bag should have – a zipper or snap closure, a pocket to fit a water bottle, a pocket to fit a cell phone. Anything other than that isn’t really necessary. Maybe try one outer pocket instead of two, replace the string ties with a zipper, have one inner pocket that has a zipper closure, and one or two inner pockets that are open.

    * Pattern/Design:

I’m on the fence on whether I like the design or not. I’m a definite fan of the LV pattern and I like the idea behind the Her Universe design…I just don’t know if I really like it. How does the design look if it was a purple background with black symbols? What about two different bags, one with “good guy” symbols and the other with “bad guy” symbols? Part of what makes the LV pattern so appealing is that it’s only using 2 to 4 symbols in its design. It’s cool to have every symbol in the SW universe, but that makes for a ridiculously busy-looking pattern scheme.
What I think would be nice is if you offered a couple of designs for customers/fans to vote on and let them choose the final design.

As always, thank you for creating Her Universe and reaching the female Star Wars fan base as no one has done before!

  135. Arica Bolts says:

    THIS BAG IS AWESOME!!

    two things,

one for those of us younger fans (we’re talking under 18 ahsoka aged people….) it’s alot of money to dish out. for a bag, all be it a realy, realy, realy cool bag, but i can’t even afford to buy one of the shirts when it isn’t on sale, but $45 for a bag? i know it’s cheap for designer, and this is high quality, but i don’t think i’d ever have $45 to spend on a bag, no matter how cool. and there’s no way my mom is going to buy this for me!

and two, i don’t feel comfortable with an open bag like that. and it’s a bit big, what i’d love to see is a bag that’s slightly smaller (we’re talking can fit two or three regular sized binders) and has more pockets, and maybe a mesh one on the outside? and one outside side pocket that closes?

again, just a few things tomake it better, thank you so much for making her universe, finally someone who likes star wars as much as i do! (i never thought it possible!) :)

  136. Arica Bolts says:

oh, and a suggestion on future products.

maybe a fabic line? i LOVE making my own clothes and bags and scrunchies, and well, i coudl go on for hours! but finding star wars fabric is impossible, there is none! i use bed sheets for fabric, not as good as cotton….

just another idea floating around this mind of mine….

  137. han lover 11 says:

love it but should be cheaper

  138. Lillian Skye says:

Her Universe is always absolutely adorable! Stylish and chic! Need I say more?

Yes! I must! ;) I really want to comment on the tote:
Purple is my favorite color and the different icons really look great together! I love how the HU symbol is incorporated with the familiar symbols of the saga!

However, I usually prefer smaller, mini back-pack-like bags big enough for a book, notebook, camera, and a phone…if you could make a smaller option that would be wonderful. But I’m grateful that a Star Wars tote is being made, regardless! ;)

You are right–this bag is perfect for long trips or retreats and would be a “must find” at conventions! It would also be a great conversation starter, too! Just like with the HU shirts, I’m sure many female fans would come inquire about the bag! :)

The price is a little high for me…but so far with Her Universe’s quality I am very satisfied and overjoyed and would make an exception! (It also makes a great gift idea for my family!)

    Mrs. Ashley Eckstein–
I am beyond thrilled with Her Universe and will support you through your endeavors. You definitely “go the extra mile” to reach out to your fellow fangirls—and for that I am most grateful! :D

Thank you for asking our opinions,
    Lillian Skye

  139. When is this bag coming out? When is the new spring line coming out? Thanks!
    -Rachel (Queen Karina)

  140. BRidget says:

    I LOVE IT!!!

I would buy it. I’m the type who would use it until it falls apart.
BUT I would prefer a zipper.

    Bridget

  141. Susan says:

I’m so late posting my thoughts on the bag…my bad.

First, I love the pattern on the bag. It’s kind of the designer pattern you see with LV. I think the colors go well with the pattern, and I love that the inside is purple.

I would like to buy this bag. I don’t know if I would or could though. :( I’m a medium/small bag person, and I like my bags to zip. It seems like it would be a great traveling bag (although I more likely to wear my vera bradley backpack for a day at a theme park) but I don’t travel that much, and I rarely have a lot of use for such a large bag.
I was really excited at first, thinking that I would still buy it out of customer loyalty (and to be completely honest, I still might!) but then I realised how much it would be including shipping, and I don’t know if I can justify spending that much on a bag I won’t use that often.

I hope that helps! It’s great that you’re taking your customers/fans into consideration for these products. It really shows what a quality company you’re running. :)

  142. ryokumori says:

I love the pattern and the size of the bag (I much prefer big bags!) but I agree with everyone who says there should be a zipper. The ties are cute and all, but I’d feel a lot more secure with a zip. Also, a little pocket inside the bag for a phone or camera would be awesome, since judging by the size of the bag (and the fact that I wouldn’t want to put my phone in an exposed outer pocket!) anything small would disappear pretty easily.

I love the side pockets though! I hate having to crush my notes and books when I want to take a water bottle to lectures. :|

  143. ashokafreak2009 says:

I know I am a little late, but I would love a messenger bag with Ahsoka or Padme on it.

  144. Jedi~Chick says:

I will SOOOOOOO buy this!!!!!!! :D I love the design, and I love the colors and the pockets!!!!!!!! ;) It’s beautiful!! I have an obsession of bags and purses, and this is perfect for me. I’m constantly on the go, and I would be able to fit my music for lessons in there, shoes for dance, a water bottle for dance, and my iTouch, camera, notebooks and anything else I’d need when I’m out and about. :) I would definatly use it, and I will be buying it at Star Wars Weekends!!!! :D Great Job Ashley, and thank you for everything you do!!!!! :D

Your fan since the beginning of HU,
    Jedi~Chick <33

  145. Steph says:

I’m a little late, I know. I love the pattern and colors!!! Awesome job!! This bag is a bit big for me. I would love to see a smaller version in the future, like a cross-body bag…something with a long strap and medium sized. Luv you girl!!

  146. Rachel says:

It really needs to be smaller, the size and shape kinds make it diaper bag looking or gym/beach bag looking. I carry a lot of stuff but not that much stuff. A zipper is necessary, you don’t always go places where a tie is enough of a security function. Also I think like a key chain with all the signs attached would be a great added bonus. The pattern is really neat and the colors look nice but I would love to see a pattern in the future similar to the Padame shirt, I’m so in love with that shirt. I look forward to seeing the final product and hopefully it will be something I add to my her universe collection.

  147. Giovanni says:

I’ll take a different aproach – the guy buying a gift for the wife. So, not a fan of the bag but I love the concept. My wife loves Coach bags and they are very sturdy, solid, with lots of metal work. Having a slightly smaller bag, with thicker lining would be nice with some custom Star Wars zippers and other hardware – yes a much more expensive bag…but worth it. This bag is nice but it needs a zipper and it really looks to me like a cheap tote…not a purse…lets bring some high style and let our amazing Star Wars women make all others jealous. ;)

  148. Sell it, Sell It, SELL IT! I WILL BUY THAT!!!!! (:DI WILL BE PROUD TO WEAR IT! It will match my “Daddy’s Little Girl” tee perfectly! It’s so perfect! It’ll be great to hold my art supplies when I go to the park or where ever! Oh and Ashley, when are you gonna start selling Lightsaber Lip Gloss? Oh and her’s an idea:
    Blue:Cotton Candy
    Green: Lemon Lime
    Purple: Bubble Gum
    Red: Strawberry

Oh and could you make some Clone Wars Anidala (Anakin and Padme)or just Anakin (the clone wars version) stuff? I want a tee with the galaxy’s hottest, good looking, CGI Jedi! And how about star wars bras :P

  149. Maryann says:

Oh my jedi i heart the bag.
I want it!!!And prple none the less, my favorite color!!!
Great work please keep it up!!
    :)

  150. Maryann says:

p.s. and i love Mrs. Marissa Skywalker’s ideas, Anidala stuff would be the bomb!! The’re my fav star wars couple. I jadore lip gloss, so i can’t wait for lightsaber lip gloss! :)

  151. Maddy says:

  156. syfywho says:

I LOVE this bag! The size would make it perfect for my grad-trip this summer to Disneyland, so that makes me SOOOO excited!
(Sidenote)I have what I think is a great new product idea for Her Universe and would love it if you’d be willing to look at it!

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/scifiwholol/5604586537/

It a short sleeved hoodie so that it’s able to be worn in both the winter and summer.

  157. Maddy says:

Yeah like a 1/4 length. Thatd be nice. I got hot very easy.

  158. ~lilashley~ says:

    I love that idea!!!!!!!!!!!!

  159. Maddy says:

    Yeah me too!!

  160. Jade007 says:

Wow, I like that hoodie idea!

  161. katie says:

I love the pattern but the bag is a little too big for my liking, if the same pattern were used on a purse or a handbag or a backpack I would definitely buy. It would even be a good pattern for a jacket or top

  162. Sarah J says:

I think it’s beautiful, the pattern is awesome and I love the purple color inside. I agree about having a zipper instead of a tie, although, the tie adds a nice different shape when tied tightly so maybe having both would be really cool. Adjustable straps would be nice too because I tend to like longer straps. I’d love to use that for school, it seems great for holding notebooks and binders. I love the large pockets on the sides, I always carry 1L water bottles with me so to actually be able to hold them with ease would be great. I love it!

  163. Mojeeesha says:

I really like the bag. I would definitely buy it! The only problem for me would be that, even though this is a TOTE, i don’t often carry around bags this size. I usually just have a small sling bag or small backpack purse thingamajig. Here, i just dont see myself finding a lot of things to use it for. (but if i had a bag like that, i WOULD find a good use for it XD) Other than that, i absolutely love this bag, the design is cool and is, well, star wars!, but also subtle enough to not have people saying “really?”
    two thumbs up!

  164. Harmony says:

Love the Bag. I think to Please every one… Make a small purse to go into the bag in the same matching pattern. Then as a mom or for larger occasions or school etc. Big bag is great, but like me you can leave the huge tote on the shopping cart or stroller and then take the smaller purse with your “life” in it out and pay with out worry!!! Great job so far!!! Love all you do!!!!

  165. TogrutaGirl says:

It sounds great Ashley! I would love to get it!
Thanks for creating HerUniverse! I’m so happy there’s a Star Wars
Company for girls! I also love You as Ahsoka’s voice! She is my
favorite character!!! <3 your biggest fan

  166. WOW love it but like Ri Skygirl said the price is high. Plus you still have to pay shipping and handling sooo yea. BUT, still GO STAR WARS!!!!!! :)

  167. Rory says:

I’m writing on behalf of my girlfriend who is a casual Star Wars fan (i’m the real geek!) Anyway, she would love something like this as she love’s purple stuff and could use a big bag like this but…

A: I’ts mad expensive, although for the size I guess it isn’t too bad.

B: It needs to zipper. Ties don’t cut it apparently.

C: You should work the Madalorian symbol into the pattern somehow, Mandalorian’s rule!

We like that there isn’t a huge STAR WARS logo on it. That makes it easy to take anywhere without attracting too many stares or attention. It makes it look more designery and less nerdy.

Overall it looks good! Can’t wait to be able to gift this!

  168. Perrissa says:

I think it is wonderful! It’s so cute. I am going to put it on top of my Christmas list! Thank you for making it ,Ashley! It will be perfect for Star Wars Weekend next year! Can’t wait to see you again but in the meantime “May the force be with you… Always!

  169. Hey, we are looking affilliates by the way for http://fbfist.com/ we are paying 50% per sell. It basically sells itself. Email me if you are interested.

  170. Genessis says:

Hi, I’m a big Star Wars fan now because of the Clone Wars and most importantly because of Ahsoka. I’ve been wanting to buy something that can help me in high school because people keep making fun of me because of Star Wars. When I saw the new tote bag about to come out I was so excited, but the price was high. I was wondering if their’s somewhere I can buy the bag for less, please?

  171. Skygirl02 says:

Hi, Ashley! I think the bag is a really neat idea! I just started looking at Her Universe in June and I saw this! I wanted to tell you this earlier, but I had to do some things. I just wanted to say that I LOVE the tote bag and I would buy it. Anyway, May the Force Be With You!!!!!!!

  172. Rubin Leafe says:

Damn, my zipper came off track yesterday on my favorite shorts. Following the recommendation of a felow poster, I read this article (check my link I attached) showing how to fix a broken zipper and it was really simple. I highly recommend them if you need any zipper reapirs.

Very good writing. Keep doing what you are doing for sure i will check out more posts.

  175. Magnificent issues altogether, you simply won a logo new reader. What may you recommend about your put up that you made a few days in the past? Any sure?

  176. toypup says:

Could you make it into a backpack purse? I’d buy it if it were one of those.

  177. AA says:

I LOVE the print of this bag. I really wish the Mandalorian skull had been included, as others have mentioned, though. I love that the HU logo is used. HU has definitely become a recognizable brand – at least in the Star Wars/geek girl community. I personally think HU prices are perfect. Not high enough to stop people from buying, but not so cheap that everyone owns the entire collection three times over. It makes HU apparel/accessories geek chic “status pieces”, in my opinion. I agree with what many others have said regarding the shape of the bag – it’s kind of awkward, but not a huge problem for me. Also agree that a zipper would be nice instead of the ties. The size doesn’t bother me – I use carry-all bags a lot when traveling, conventioning, etc. – but I would love a purse-sized bag in this print as well. The biggest problem with the bag, in my opinion, is that it’s kind of plain. A zipper pull, toggle closures, a logo, a charm – SOMETHING seems to be needed. I would definitely buy this bag as is, however. Great work. Thanks for asking for fan opinions.

  178. I LOVE IT!!!! Its is a great design! But you guys should really include a Her Universe charm to go with it, and a Mandalorian skull bag or shirt would be a great one too also a book bage with the Her Universe symbol on it that would be GREAT! OH and a backpack would be cool too! anyways love the bag, it just needs the Star Wars logo inprinted on it that would be great sooo may the Force be with you!

  179. Susan says:

I love that you are making SW merchandise for women, it has always been a struggle to find anything like that online, keep it up, please. I especially like the idea of creating designs based off of the costumes Padme Amidala and Princess Leia wore in the movies, but making everyday clothes based off those designs, very inspiring. Also, tasteful looking SW themed jewelry is the way to go for people like me that want to wear it everyday.

  180. Maria says:

    I Love it!

  181. emy says:

you should do a cantina band, obi-wan or an r2-d2 t-shert it would be so cool!! or clip on ear rings.

  182. emy says:

the bag is cute but i don’t cary bages much.?! :)

  183. Shaak Ti says:

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! I always am carrying around soooooooo much stuff, and having a large, SW bag would be awesome!!!!!!

  184. Holly says:

OMG!! I would take this bag with me everywhere! I get alot of crap from people because I wear my Star Wars apperal publically but I’m proud of it!!! I agree with everyone else though. A zipper would be nice. But, other than that, AMAZING!!!!
