Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! I wish I could thank each and every one of you for all of your support during the holidays. Our Yoda pins were gone in record time and your kind words truly mean the world to me. I would also like to apologize to anyone who had a problem with their order. I hope our customer service team was able to resolve any issues you may have had and if there are any outstanding problems, please email us at orders@heruniverseshop.com or you can contact me on Facebook at the Her Universe Official Fan Page and Twitter @HerUniverse. It is my goal for everyone to have a positive experience with Her Universe and we can’t help you if we don’t know your problem.

After a relaxing break it’s time to face the New Year head on. We all have challenges ahead that will require a lot of hard work and determination to overcome. Whether it’s school, finding a job, keeping a job, dealing with bullies, difficult co-workers, a frustrating boss or what seems to be a very difficult or impossible situation, everyone has their own journey and story. I wanted to share with you something that always pumps me up and gives me the strength to keep going. I love the song “The Middle” by Jimmy Eat World. For me, it’s so inspirational and it gives me that extra edge to forge ahead and believe in myself. When I first moved to LA for acting, I used to go on hundreds of auditions and I had to get used to A LOT of rejection! I was constantly told I was not pretty enough, I was too short, I didn’t look the part, I didn’t have enough talent, every piece of criticism you could imagine came my way. When Jimmy Eat World came out with this song, I used to turn up the volume really loud and completely rock out to the music. (Yes, I am a dork and I am sure you are laughing at the thought of me jamming out in my room by myself to this song, and, no, I am not a good dancer…lol) Giving up was never an option for me, and this song always encouraged me to keep going and build my acting career. A couple days ago, I was driving in the car and this song came on the radio. It was the message I needed as we start a New Year. Her Universe is still a young company and we still have A LOT to do and prove. It’s been a long journey to get to this point and I feel like we are only in the middle of the ride. This song is definitely my anthem for 2012! Here is a video from You Tube with the lyrics.

May this New Year bring you all many blessings and thank you again for your continued support and friendship.

All my best,
Ashley :o

    Thanks for the encouragement this year my goal is to get a VO contract! My theme song is “there’s a place for us” by Carrie Underwood! It really has shown me that I can do any thing weather it be in my life or in my dreams. I can do ALL things through CHRIST who strengthens ME!!!! MAY THE TRUE FORCE JESUS CHRIST BE WITH YOU NOW AND FOREVER Mrs. E :) (;

Music is very helpful to me in stressful times. I like “Mean” by Taylor Swift. Helps if your dealing with mean girls, or just mean people.

What you said really was a uplifting. I just heard this song not too long ago. :)
And what you said about how you were turned down in acting, I know how you feel. I’m not a actress or anything, but I know the feeling of being too short or not something enough. I also really like the song Unbreakable by Firelight, that really helps me. One part is “Forget the Fear its just a crutch that holds you back and turns your dreams to dust.” Its a really good song, really gets me to where I need to go. Also anything in David Archuleta’s “Other Side Of Down” album also uplifts me. Also I Stand by Idina Menzel, Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson, I get that way a lot so I have a lot of music for that.
I can’t wait for more Her Universe, I tell everyone about it, I actully got something from it for Christmas!! :D The Daddy Issues hoodie and the Imperial Charm. THANK YOU

Thank you, Ashley! Happy New Year to you, too! That is a fun song – any song that makes you dance like no one’s looking is great motivation. I just finished listening to “Stroked: A Tribute to Is This It,” and it makes me want to listen to The Strokes and pull off some Elaine dance moves of my own. My New Year’s resolution is to catch up on The Clone Wars, re-read the Encyclopedia, and do some more Her Universe shopping! May the Force be with you as you celebrate a wonderful 2012!

What perfect timing! I was thinking just as I clicked on this about the year that was and the year ahead. I am lucky enough to be marrying the love of my life in August this year and I am so excited. Still, planning a wedding is a big task and I still have a full time job with its own challenges to overcome at the same time. Will keep this song in my play list for when I am in need of some strength.

Good luck in 2012 Ashley. I love visiting your site, as a girl fan there aren’t a lot of places online for me so appreciate you being here.

  8. True Hero's Girl says:

God bless you, Ashley!!! You don’t know how many of us can’t express our gratitude to YOU. I am one of them. :) You give and give: you give inpiration, courgage, strength, and hope. I don’t know how anyway anyone could ever thank you enough or repay you for what you’ve done. Thank you again, and again!

The True Hero Jesus Christ loves you and is coming again!

    ~True Hero’s Girl

  9. Happy new year to you, too, Mrs. Eckstein!!! I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in store for me, and HU, in this new year. Thanks for being so kind to us fans and thanks for truly caring about us!

  12. Endor says:

Happy New Year’s to you, too!!

I had a great Her Universe Christmas! I’m still trying to figure out what to do with my Yoda pin….lol. Does anyone have any ideas? :)

One of my favorite inspirational songs is definitely Unbreakable by Fireflight. I think it’s also a very good description of how I see Padme. The song reminds me that though I might appear to be broken, I am never truly broken because my King renews me.

Have a blessed new year and I am eagerly awaiting more Star Wars items!!!

  13. Alanna Skywalker says:

I love this song!!! It’s my new favorite!! I listen to it now when I start to get a little down an it helps me remember that itll all work out!!! Love it!!! MTFBWY!!! :)

  14. Lillian Skye says:

    ♥♥♥♥♥♥ I love that song!♥♥♥♥♥♥

“Just be yourself…doesn’t matter if it’s good enough for someone else…” So true! But often hard to realize when you’re “down in the dumps…” Just sing and it will be just fine! I’m auditioning for ‘Beauty and the Beast’ next week and this song will be running through my mind. After all, “it just takes some time” to get some experience! “I can do all things through HIM who strengthens me!!”

P.S.- I think it’s a girl thing to sing into a hairbrush and dance around the room ;) Dorks and Fangirls unite!!!

    ♥Lilly

Betrothed??? Kissing!!!?? Ahhh! “His Woman?” And kissing! And Ahsoka: “Careful not to choke on your stupidity.” You tell him sister! Still..kissing! I can hear Anakin now: “Ahsoka Tano, that is not the way I trained you!”

Am I the only one freaking out!? I don’t know what I think! Ah! 0.o

  17. Arica says:

I just Got a part in a play, my first my main Role. and Boy am I scared! i’ve never had such a large part, i can’t call my lines, lines, i call them speeches becuase they’re all really long. i understand the rejection completely. because of all the things going on in my life the rejection isn’t at the auditions, it’s the fact that i live across town from all the company’s! :( but hey, i get chances! and we have to live in the moment right? don’t worry aobut what you’ll do next, enjoy what you’re doing now. And i rock out in my room all the time! lol. let’s be dorks together! lol. :)

  18. Lillian: Nope, you’re not alone, LOL! Me and my friends have been freaking out since it aired, and not good freaking out! Never been a fan of Lux, so I have been extremely upset this past day. I’m in shock… My sister started crying while we were watching the episode. ;P I hope Lux never reappears again… but there’s slim chance of that.

Arica: Is that you, sokafan? *not sure, just asking* Congrats on the part in the play!!!!!! :D You’ll be great!

  19. Shaak Ti says:

yeah, i re watched the episode this morning and I threw a pen at the TV when they kissed, pathetic, but true. I also screamed.

Well, its sort of nice to see such a strong lead (and favorite character) struggling with some of the same problems as us.

  20. ~lilashley~ aka sokafan4ever says:

No it is not :) (: congrats though on your part!!!! I got a part in the spring musical though but it isn’t that big
